As someone who had not used PayPerPost in a while, I was amazed to see the new opportunities that pay big bucks. This is great for people that want to help getting the word out there, but don’t have the traffic of some of those 800-pound blogging gorillas. No question, I would write a post for $1000! Their blog ad network is pulling in some huge clients, and some big-ticket prospects.

Systems like AdSense work great if you have already proved your worth, but what if you’re still in the process of making a name for yourself? It doesn’t seem fair to penalize people trying to get their ideas out there, and rewarding blog factories that bring in viewers but no insight. That’s how the web used to be, but we have the power to change this. Networks like PayPerPost are making it possible for the little guy to win, too.

What’s more, their fee is a lot lower than places like ReviewMe. We’re talking 35% versus 100%. I should mention that disclosure is required from all bloggers, but I don’t see a problem with that. I’d rather have people understand the context of a post – that’s what web 2.0 is, right? It’s all about Collaborative context.

Stuck in traffic on the way to work, I was reading feeds through Google Reader, and saw this post recommending a book.  “I should really get that,” I thought.  I’ll just star the page and go back to it later.  But, I never check that, what if I forget?  Oh – the feed has those cool FeedFlare links at the end of the post, I’ll tag it on del.icio.us.  Oh, it looks like there’s some weird authentication/cookie bug that won’t let me log in, even though I already am.  Well, I’ll just digg it.  Oh, no one submitted this yet, and I don’t feel like filling out this form on my phone. Screw it, I’ll just buy it on Amazon!

Nice to see some more real companies promoting using Ruby on Rails.

After reading way too many articles on RAID and mdadm and lvm, I finally came across this
article.  This article was definitely a eureeka moment, and within 5 mins I had set up my raid array (not counting the 2hrs of formatting…).  Cool stuff!

From everything I’ve seen and experienced, AdSense as we know it is no longer a viable option. For everyone that wants to make money blogging, it seems like PayPerPost is the way to go. It’s so much easier to use, and it actually pays. I’ve personally have had a hard time even getting registered with AdSense, let along getting paid. PerPerPost is so much easier, and you’re in control – you choose which opportunities to take, not the other way around.
